Soccer Game #2

I promise I will not post pictures after every game! We had another surprise visitor this week-Grandma Peggy, and we also had to pose in front of Emma's new team banner. Caden and his best friend Gabe enjoy getting dusty from head to toe on the baseball field during Emma's soccer games.

A Playdate with Becca

Emma's classmate and good friend Becca came over after school today. The girls disappeared for a long time and finally came out with 2 of Emma's dresses layered over their other clothes. I couldn't resist these cute pictures of the girls eating popsicles under the tree.

Picnic in the Park

We had to take advantage of the nice September weather, so we packed a picnic lunch and headed to Atascadero Lake Park. After lunch, Emma did some impromtu dancing and then we headed over to feed the ducks.

Go Purple Vipers!

Emma started soccer this fall and had her very first game today. We were very proud of her efforts and loved seeing her in action. She had some surprise cheerleaders show up for the game- Nonnie and Poppy!

Caden's First Day of Preschool!

Caden started preschool today, on September 5th. We carefully laid out a nice plaid shirt and cargo shorts and he came out this morning in his favorite outfit, complete with hat. I decided not to fight it because this determination characterizes my sweet son. His teacher is Mrs. Jana (with the curly hair) and one if his aides is Mrs. Tracy. He had a great day and I had to beg for a kiss goodbye. He was very absorbed in his new class.

First time on a boat!

Our friends Heather and Caleb Kemp recently invited us to go boating at Lake San Antonio. Jeff enjoyed wakeboarding and Emma and Caden finally warmed up to the idea of the boat. They enjoyed swimming in the water and were coerced into riding on the "yellow couch." Notice the nervous looks on their faces. (Double click to enlarge the photo.) Emma ended up going for a second ride, but Caden opted to hang out on the boat and watch.

2nd Annual Tie Dye Party

We invited a bunch of friends over for an end of summer party that included rainbow snacks, slip n slide, a sprinkler ball, and tie dying. It was a blast. Check out our masterpieces!

Kindergarten Starts!

Emma started Kindergarten at Monterey Road School on August 27th. We were thrilled to get Mrs. Romera, a wonderful lady who has been teaching for over 30 years. Emma felt very comfortable because 3 of her good friends are also in her class. She absolutely loves the "office" area as well as the kitchen and dolls. It's going to be a great year, but we miss her!

Kristie's Wedding

My cousin Kristie got married on August 11th in Saratoga, CA. Emma was asked to be the flower girl, which was a bit nervewracking! We finally got her down the aisle and she was thrilled when we finally let her take her "hot tights" off. Included is a picture of all of the cousins: Kristie, her sister Katie, Chelsea from Alaska, my sister Steph, me, and Emma. There is also a picture of my mom Bonnie with Jeff's mom, Peggy. She came all the way up from L.A. to be at the wedding and do Emma's hair. She did a great job!

Kristie's Wedding, continued

Here are a few more pics from the wedding!

Plaskett Creek Camping Trip

We went for a 3 night camping trip with 2 other familes from our community group at church. It is a great spot, an hour and a half north of us on Hwy 1. Some of our activities at camp included chasing gophers, beading, climbing huge trees, playing board games, and roasting marshmallows on the stove (no campfires allowed:( ).

Plaskett Creek Pics Part 2

We had a great time playing at the beach both days. We took Jake and Daisy on the trip and it was their first time to the beach. Jake entertained us for hours by fetching sticks out of the water. Caden suited up in the size 8 wetsuit, but decided it was way to cold to stay in the water.
