Birthday at the beach

We spent Caden's birthday at Avila Beach. The kids enjoyed the water and Caden loved being buried. Avila was the perfect spot to enjoy the 80 degree weather because it was where we were the day before Caden was born.

Happy 3rd Birthday, Caden!

Caden woke up to a birthday banner, breakfast, and a skateboard on his birthday. Here he is testing it out on our beloved kitchen floor. (Counting the days until it's gone!)

Our Bag Boy

Caden is our free spirit. We shouldn't have been surprised to find him in a bag one afternoon. He keeps us laughing.

Ballerina Girl

Emma started ballet classes in February. They are practicing for their spring show in which she will be a blue bird. We can't wait to see it!

Now I Kneel Me Down to Sleep

I found Caden sleeping in this position one night when I went to bed. So sweet!

Happy Valentine's Day, Poppy!

We surprised Poppy and had him meet us halfway so we could deliver his Valentine's present in person. Smooch is a 4 month old shi tzu puppy. She immediately licked him and wagged her tail. It was love at first smooch!

Happy Heart Day!

This is our family picture taken in the fall by Kent Eimers.

Disneyland Day 2

It was raining on our second day at Disneyland which meant we walked on to all of the rides. It also meant that characters were standing around just waiting to sign our autograph books. Caden was still scared of the characters and would only pose with the characters if Emma did.

Disney Magic

We squeezed in one last trip to Disneyland at the end of January before our passes expired. The highlight was Emma's birthday lunch with Grandma at Ariel's Grotto. The princesses came out one by one to each table to chat and take pictures. Even Caden found plenty to chat about with the ladies.

Snow Fun!

We went to the Twainhart area with our community group from church-10 adults and 11 kids. It was lots of fun. Emma had a ball sledding and Caden enjoying throwing snow balls until his feet and hands got cold and wet.

Emma's 5th Birthday

We celebrated Emma's fifth birthday Under the Sea. We turned our living room into an ocean with blue balloons all over the floor and had fish hanging from the ceiling. The borrowed boat was the perfect place to read the traditional birthday story. The cake was a clamshell perfected by Poppy. We had lots of fun!

Ears Pierced!

Happy New Year! We started the new year by getting Emma's ears pierced, something we had been promising since last summer. We found a place that would do both holes at the same time so we wouldn't end up with only one hole. She chose pink CZ's and after about 5 seconds of tears, she was smiling again!. She probably won't be begging for another set of holes for a long time!
