Camping 101

We have to admit that we finally took our kids on their first camping trip. We kept it close to home and went to San Simeon (30 minutes away) with some friends, Jim and Michele Fellows, from SLO PD. Our kids are the same ages and we all had a ball. Mommy's big mistake was not packing any shorts or swim trunks. Caden still hasn't forgiven me! We are officially a camping family, so let us know if you want to go camping!

Dog Pile!

Kent and Poppy stopped by for a short visit on their way home from Mexico. Kent is synonymous with wrestling and horsie rides, so these pictures are an accurate summary of Kent's play time with the kids.

Easter Egg Hunt #2

We magically made it to the 8 am service at church to avoid the crowds and then went to our first "Misfit Easter" at a friend's house for all of those with no place to go. We enjoyed hanging out with friends and the kids came home with enough candy to last until the end of the year. And Caden's obnoxious orange shirt was in his Easter basket. He was thrilled and announced that he was on the team and insisted on wearing it immediately and then going outside to play basketball.

Easter Egg Hunt #1

Caden participated in our 4th annual Mommy and Me Easter Egg Hunt. He found the eggs, oblivious to the 8 egg limit, and we got the classic Easter bunny picture and cupcake and went on our way. Look at the pictures. Does this qualify as a hunt??? I must add that this is his favorite shirt, his hockey jersey, which he wants to wear almost every day. He asks me every day when he can play hockey although he has no clue what it is or how it is played.

A New Meaning for Playing in the Sand

Caden finds new ways to use just about anything, as exemplified by his use of the sandbox. It is much easier just to get inside of it, although it makes our sandbox look very small!

Laundry, Anyone?

Caden and Emma both love to talk on the cell phone to whomever will listen, mainly Nonnie and Poppy and Grandma. This time, however, Caden chose a new spot to talk. He never ceases to surprise us!

To Infinity and Beyond!

We celebrated Caden's third birthday in Buzz style. We were thrilled to have our first birthday party with no rain and cold weather, which meant we could have our first bounce house and pinata, Caden's two favorite party activities. The guest of honor, besides "Buzz" was Smooch. Caden sang Happy Birthday to himself which was so sweet.
