Happy Mother's Day to Me!

Jeff spoiled me all weekend by washing the car, cleaning the house, and making dinner on Saturday night. Then on Sunday, Ihe gave me a dozen pink roses and made some tasty strawberry crepes for brunch. Emma counted down the days until Mother's Day when she could present me with her 14 cards. Included is a shot of her creating one last card on Mother's Day. I couldn't resist this picture of Caden on the phone wishing Nonnie a Happy Mother's Day.

Mother's Day Entertainment

Caden will hate me for these one day, but I couldn't resist. These are shots from my Mother's Day show they put on for me. Caden would not be wearing this outfit if he had an older brother. Part way through, he turned into Buzz Lightyear and his wand became a sword. At the end of the show, Caden gave us a solo with the microphone.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Jeff began his 36th birthday in the worst way possible. He spent the entire night in the bathroom with a migraine, which meant he spent most of the day trying to sleep and recover his strength. By dinner time, he decided he felt up to going out to dinner. We went to Chili's and our favorite memory is when Caden got out of the car, pulled his cell phone (one of our old flip phones) out of his pocket and started having a conversation. He couldn't understand why we were laughing and was very bothered by it. We passed on having the birthday song sung at Chili's (so Jeff would stay married to me) and opted for the homemade ice cream cake and birthday song in the privacy of our home. Notice the strategically placed candles compliments of Emma and Caden. We hope Jeff never repeats the migraine part of his birthday.

Dinosaur Cave Park

Grandma Peggy and Grandpa Reed took Emma and Caden to this fun park near Pismo Beach. Lots of great photo ops! The last picture of Grandma and Grandpa was taken by Emma. Not bad!

Kon Tiki Sleepover

This is out of order because it is from the week before Easter when Grandma Peggy came. The kids slept over for 3 nights and had a snack and movie every night before bed.

Gymnastics

Caden loves going to gymnastics, so Grandma took him when she was here in April. The trampoline and stamps on his feet at the end are his favorites.

A Memory With Grandpa

I just wanted to share a picture of my Grandpa Vernon. This is a picture taken a year ago with Steph and Kent. Grandpa passed away yesterday after 90 full years. We miss him!

Chef, Teacher, or Race Car Driver?

Imaginations run wild at our house. Most of the day, Caden is "Baby Wyatt" and Emma is his mommy, but occasionally, they diverge to other roles. Caden prepared some real noodles (much to Mommy's surprise), Emma pretended to be" Mrs. Cheryn," her preschool teacher, and later took a spin down our dirt road.

Don't Forget the Sunscreen!

Caden is the kid who likes to push the limits, so when we said enough sunscreen, he promptly added a few more squirts, just to make sure. These were taken from our beloved Kon Tiki hotel in Pismo Beach on Nonnie's birthday weekend.

Story Time with Poppy

Caden absolutely loves Disneyland and gave Poppy a play by play commentary on the fabulous Disneyland album Grandma Peggy made. I couldn't resist a few snapshots. Sweet!

Offroading!

Caden (aka Pooh) was thrilled to find a puddle he and his buddy Hudson could ride through. He is a boy through and through!

Dress Up Time!

Emma and Caden love to dress up, especially when friends are over. Not to be outdone by "Cinderella," Caden quickly put his Pooh costume on, along with some beautiful dress up shoes.

Camping 201

During our trip, we walked down to the beach and played and attempted to fly kites. Emma is always cooking with the "brown sugar" (sand) and Caden decided he should just go for it and get his shoes wet too. Jeff is always mistaken for Superman.
