Bike Riding 101

We decided it was time to do some serious bike riding without training wheels. Both Emma and Caden have mastered their little two wheelers these past two days. Now we're ready to head to the highschool for more space.

Creative Quiet Time

During Emma's quiet time, she made a sweet tea party for her 3 "Big Bears" she sleeps with every night. She got them in Big Bear when she was 10 months old. Caden had created a carnival complete with ferris wheel out of his Lincoln Logs and Tinkertoys.

Happy Father's Day!

Isn't Jeff's new smile amazing? No braces as of last week!

Our friends and neighbors, Matt and Megan, invited us to a BBQ at Port San Luis in Avila and we had a ball. Emma and Caden played with Drew, Erin, and the other Emma Grace, as well as their Aunt Jenna. The men played Bocce Ball while the gals hung out. After our delicious smorgasbord BBQ, we enjoyed some S'mores and the campfire. Thanks Matt and Megan! We love you guys!

Emma's Last Day of Kindergarten

Here are the before and after pictures. Notice how much shorter the skirt is. The original black shoes are too small too.

On the last day of school, Emma's teacher prepared an awesome slide show of pictures and invited the parents to eat lunch in the classroom. We heard one final story and then did a final round of the chicken dance. Emma was very sad when it came time for the final goodbye. We love Mrs. Romera!

Emma's Graduation Picnic

We had surprise guests at Emma's graduation. My parents drove down and back home the same day. Emma and Caden each got a turn riding in the Mustang. Once we got there, we ate our picnic dinner and then the kindergartners sang some songs. Unfortunately, Emma got both knees scraped up on the playground right before they sang, so she looks a bit teary-eyed. Once they were done, we all got to do the Chicken Dance and Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes (which Jeff loved:))and then they received their wonderful memory books and certificates. The class presented Mrs. Romera with a beautiful scrapbook with pages made by each child and a gift certificate to a Bed and Breakfast in Cambria. She has been an awesome teacher and we all feel truly blessed to have had her be our children's first teacher. Now if she'll just teach for 2 more years... (It's been over 30 already!)

Caden's Last Day of Preschool ('til Fall)

Caden's last week was filled with a luau, water play, sand, slip and slides, face painting, and treats. Here he is with Mrs. Tracy who will be his teacher next year, and Mrs. Jana, who will teach his swim lessons in a few weeks. He had a great year and 2 fabulous teachers.

A Fun Day-Sunday

Our church had its annual church in the park today which was a lot of fun. After the service, there is a BBQ and then a band plays. After the service, Caden carefully filled his little dump trucks with leaves and acorns. Later in the day, Caden helped Jeff mow the lawn. Emma and Caden both found some interesting places to talk on the phone to my parents, "Nonnie" and "Poppy".
