Twain Harte 2009

We took our annual trip to the snow and stayed in Twain Harte. Thanks to the Millers for loaning us their cabin again. The weekend consisted of eating and throwing lots of snowballs made with our new snowball maker, many rounds of Settlers of Catan, a fun day of sledding in the snow, and lots of good food and fellowship with our good friends the Rinkenbergers.

Emma's 7th Birthday

On Emma's real birthday, January 7th, the kids had Awanas and I had highschool group, so we had a quick dinner at home, went to frozen yogurt, and then she opened her presents from us. The highlights were a pair of gold hoop earrings and a new bike. Notice Poppy's annual flower bouquet in the pictures too. Thanks Poppy!

No More Surfer Hair!

While Grandma was here, I decided I was done with Caden's long hair and not being able to see his eyes. Unfortunately, he looks older now, but we can see his cute face.

Emma's 7th Birthday Party- A Winter Beach Bash

We decided we were tired of missing out on fun summer themes because of Emma's January birthday, so she decided to have a beach bash. The weather wasn't super warm, but 10 of her girlfriends flip flopped over to our house for the party. The girls decorated flip flops, did a Hawaiian dress-up relay, listened to a story, went on a shell hunt, and glazed flip flop boxes. It was lots of fun. After they left, Emma opened Nonnie and Poppy and Grandma and Grandpa's gifts. It was an American Girl kind of night! Nonnie and Poppy stocked Josephina with a bed, nightstand, and other fun accessories, while Grandma Peggy got Emma, Kit, and Josephina matching nightgowns. TT also gave her a locket and Kit's birthday outfit. One of Emma's funniest and favorite presents was a jar of kalamata olives, which were on her wish list. It's the little things! Thanks to our families to all of their help decorating. Everything looked great!

Caden's New Shirt

Caden opened a present after Emma opened hers. This Big Brother shirt is what was inside. (Thank you Jackie at Littleshowoffs.com for the cute tee!) So, we're happy to announce that we'll be a party of five in July 2009. We had our first ultrasound today, January 14th, and the heartbeat is strong and the baby looks great. Here are a couple of the pictures from the appt. Thanks for your continual prayers for a healthy baby!

The Christmas Tree picture

Kent and Angie helped me take a few shots in front of the tree before we disassembled our dry fire hazard. Thanks guys! You obviously had them laughing about something!

Dinner at CPK

Emma's birthday celebration spanned a whole week. We ate at CPK with my family, had her friend birthday party, went out to sushi and a movie 2 days before her birthday, and opened her presents and went out to fro yo on her birthday. Here are a couple pics of the yummy sundae she got at CPK and brother wondering if he will ever get a bite.
