Christmas 2008

My parents came down from Los Gatos and my brother and his wife came from Texas which was a treat. Santa brought Emma and Caden a new trampoline. Unfortunately, it was pouring rain when they found it, so they had to wait a few hours to try it out. Emma got Josephina from the American Girls and Caden got his Leapster from Nonnie and Poppy, the only thing on his wish list. Caden entertained us by lining up every present he opened so it stretched across the room. We had a great day and enjoyed a traditional turkey dinner that night.

Our Angel Boy

Caden's preschool class did a Christmas performance and looked angelic.

Nutcracker

The Nutcracker is an annual tradition for our family and this year Jeff's dad Les was in town to go with us. We enjoyed it.

Winter Wonderland

We went with our neighbors, Matt, Megan, Drew, and Clara to the annual Winter Wonderland. Truckloads of snow are brought in for the kids to play in and sled down. It is pretty icy and dirty, but the kids don't seem to mind. The night ended with a drive around the block in an old fashioned fire truck.

Santa Comes to Visit

Our pediatrician had Santa come for his annual visit and photo op. Emma asked for a canopy for her bed and Caden wanted a Leapster.

Emma's 2nd Teddy Bear Tea

Emma enjoyed the Teddy Bear Tea again this year. They read bear stories, ate bear snacks, did a bear parade through the library, sang bear songs and frosted bear cookies. When I asked her how it was, she replied that she had a "wonderful time."

Disneyland at Christmas

We were down south in early December for Steph and Brian's baby fiesta. We couldn't resist a quick stop at Disneyland to see the Christmas parade and decorations on our way home on Sunday.

Emma's award

Emma received 2 awards in the Reflections contest for writing and visual arts. I had my camera on the wrong setting, so I had to take a picture at home instead.

Trim the tree

Here are a few pics from our Christmas tree decorating.

Thanksgiving at Big Bear

Jeff's family has been going to Big Bear for Thanksgiving for 26 years now. Every year they rent a different cabin and recently, we began celebrating "Christgiving Thanksmas" and we open our Christmas presents with his family. Emma and Caden each got cool new boots and cameras Emma got a Kit doll she had been wanting. Although there was no snow, we kept busy with movies, turkey crafts and some walks around the neighbor-hood.
